As a Mom and Wife I’m constantly taking care of my Children and Husband. Being a Mom is a full time job. From Managing my husbands work schedule, getting the kids to school, after school sports, doctors appointments, managing my school and work schedule, Laundry, dinner the list can go on and on. Things can get a little crazy and overwhelming at times so I had to learn how important it is to take care of you. If You go down the entire ship sinks. Here are 7 things I want to share that you can do to take care yourself to keep sanity
Bubble Bath
Yes taking a bath is one way care for yourself. Showers have totally taken over. “Honey I’m going to take a quick shower.” Who ever says I’m going to take a quick bath. No one. Get yourself a few candles, a glass of wine and bath bomb. Run a nice hot bubble bath sit down and RELAX. Try to make this a habit at least twice a month.
Self Maintenance
Schedule a regular manicure and pedicure at the nearest salon. Hair appointment, brows, eyelashes. Anything that can be done at a salon.This will give you something to look forward to every other week. It’s best to schedule your appointments Saturday morning or Friday evenings.
Exercise
When you look good you feel good. You have to be healthy in order to take care of your family so exercising is key. Research says women who exercise 20-30 minutes 3-4 days a week tend to have happier lives. So what are you waiting for let’s get active.
Retail Therapy
Retail Therapy is essential. We all budget so plan to set aside a little for yourself. You deserve those new pairs of shoes or that handbag you saw in the department store.
Social Connections
Leave the children with Daddy for a few hours at least 1 day a month. Have a girls night with a few of your girlfriends. Have a nice dinner, or go see a movie. Remaining social is important you can have a social life outside of your Husband and Children. Don’t feel guilty about having a social life.
Spa
A spa day is a must do at least twice a year. Beginning of the year and towards the middle. This will rejuvenate you. It’s relaxing and helps you center yourself.
These are some of the things I wanted to share that help remind myself how important I am to myself and my family. Always remember we have to be at our best to take care of everyone around us! Self love is the best love!
